Dr. Hanneke Kalf
Hanneke (J.G.) Kalf is a speech-language pathologist and assistant professor at the department of Rehabilitation of the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She received her diploma in speech-language therapy in 1982, her master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from in 2005 and earned her PhD in 2011 with her thesis 'Drooling and dysphagia in Parkinon's disease'. She combines clinical work with research projects, supervision of PhD candidates and development of postgraduate education. Her focus is on the assessment and treatment of dysarthria and oropharyngeal dysphagia in particular in neurodegenerative diseases.


Prof. James Law
James Law is Professor of Speech and Language Science at Newcastle University in the UK. He has been in receipt of research grant funding of in the order of £3.5m and has published over 150 peer reviewed and other publications. He was one of the Principal Investigators of the DfE Funded Better Communication Research Programme and is now one of the Chief Investigators on the Australian NHMRC Centre for Excellence in Child Language. He is the lead researcher on a newly funded Cost Action research network entitled “Enhancing children's oral language skills across Europe and beyond: a collaboration focusing on interventions for children with difficulties learning their first language".

Prof. Julie Dockrell
Julie Dockrell (FRCSLT, FaSS) is Professor of Psychology and Special Needs at UCL, IOE and qualified as both a clinical and educational psychologist. Her research interests are in patterns of language development and the ways in which oral language skills impact on children's learning, interaction and attainments. A central theme in this research has been the application of evidence based research to support children’s learning. She was editor of the BJEP, associate editor for JSLHR, IJLCD and Learning and Instruction. She is currently Editor in Chief of Research in Developmental Disabilities. She was co-director of the Better Communication Research Programme..
